Join Ann Budd (annbuddknits.com) as she shows you how to make a custom-fitted skirt. From its comfortable elastic waist to its hip darts to its flared lower edge, this will be a fun, flattering addition to your wardrobe. This is what you'll learn:
Class 1 (Aug. 11): Overview of skirt construction, taking body measurements, choosing yarn, knitting a gauge swatch;
Class 2 (Aug. 25): Casting on for waistband;
Class 3 (Sept. 1): Mirrored increases for darts, gore increases, adding patterns in pleats, adding patterns in gores;
Class 4: (Sept. 29): Binding off, measuring, and inserting elastic.
Class dates: Wednesdays from 12-1:30 Pacific time. Sessions will be recorded, so if the time doesn't work for you, sign up anyway and you'll get a recording that will be good for two weeks after every class.
Materials: Approx. 1500 yds of fingering-weight yarn for size medium. Larger sizes or longer lengths will require more yarn. Get enough yarn for swatching! Students will also need 24" circular needles in US sizes 2 and 3; and a stitch marker.
