Every year on the longest day of the year, our great friend Ann Budd knits to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association.
This year's knit version of the Fading Memories Cowl 2025 (designed by Ann Budd) is available HERE. The Crochet version (By Dianna Judge) will be available on Ravelry May 1. We're using Freia Handpaints Shawl Ball (come into the shop or call to purchase). For every skein of Freia purchased for this event, we will donate 15% of the proceeds to Team Ann Budd!
Here's a message from Ann.
I became passionate about dementia research every since my mother became afflicted some 15 years ago. Because I love to knit, I happily spend a day knitting to raise funds. Each year I design a project (most recently cowls) and donate the proceeds to Alzheimer's research. I also choose a Sunday in June to knit the entire day, along with everyone that wants to join me via free zoom meetings. I also raffle off the cowl I knit that day to people who donate $50 to my team. Donate $100 and get two chances to win; donate $500 and get ten chances to win!
This year I'll knit the Fading Memories Cowl 2025 during the daylight hours (between about 5:00 am and 9:00 pm Mountain Daylight Time) on Sunday, June 29. I invite all knitters and crocheters to join me! The Fading Memories Cowl 2025 pattern is available on Ravelry. It's also available in French (Col Fading Memories 2025) and Spanish (Cuello Fading Memories 2025). For every Fading Memories 2025 pattern sold, I'll donate $5 to Alzheimer's Research!.
Just as last year, Dianna Judge has designed a companion cowl worked in crochet. The Fading Memories Crochet Cowl 2025 pattern is also available on Ravelry.
For every pattern sold, Dianna will donate $5 to Alzheimer's Research.
I'd love to see you and get your support during my very long day of knitting on Sunday, June 29. Some of my favorite shops will host an hour of the stitch-a-long and will offer specials and door prizes.
