Pre-requisite: Beginning Crochet or equivalent

The class will meet at Bazaar Girls, 647 Washington St., Pt. Townsend

Amigurumi is a Japanese word for a knitted or crocheted stuffed toy. In this class, we’ll learn the basics of a crocheted toy, including crocheting in the round, shaping, and attaching crocheted pieces. This is not a beginner class: Please have a basic understanding of crochet stitches, such as single and double crochet.

We’ll be making a jellyfish, using two colors of yarn. The pattern, fiberfill (for stuffing), and safety eyes will be provided.

Materials you need to bring: Yarn and hook.  Materials can be purchased from Bazaar Girls on the day of the class: two skeins (different colors) of Kraemer Perfection worsted weight yarn and a crochet hook. Since the tension of your stitches is more important with amigurumi, your hook size may vary depending on if you are a tight or loose crocheter. Typically, you’ll need a hook size from 4 to 5.5mm.
