This is a 2-part class where we will discuss and practice key concepts of hat sizing/fit and general hat structure.
Topics covered include:
- Hat types: skullcap vs slouchy
- Tips for a good fit
- Choosing an appropriate cast on
- Why it's often important to size down for the brim
- Making decreases to shape the crown of your hat
- How to utilize stitch markers to keep track of your decreases
- Tips on finishing
- Blocking tips
Required Skills: Basic knit and purl skills.
Supplies Needed:
- US 6 16” circular knitting needles
- US 8 16” circular knitting needles AND US 8 double point needles. Needles can also be purchased at Bazaar Girls.
- 1 Skein of Cascade Woolpaka INCLUDED. Color will be chosen at the beginning of class.
