"Hanafukin" translates as "flower cloth." This stitched cotton tea towel or kitchen cloth is meant to be both beautiful and utilitarian. With a cotton cloth as canvas, you'll use a simple running stitch to create a Sashiko pattern sampler of bold geometric patterns and floral stencil motifs. You'll learn how to use a grid to lay out designs, draw with templates and rulers to create patterns and use "small stabs" to stitch geometric Sashiko patterns onto your future heirloom kitchen towel.
