Prepare your crochet skills for our Intermediate Crochet classes this fall!

Save the dates for Beginning Crochet Level 2: Sept. 15; Granny Squares: Oct. 13; and Amigurumi/crochet animal or toy: Nov. 10.

This is an introductory course for anyone interested in learning the foundations of crochet, whether you have never crocheted before, or have started to learn, and would like to polish your skills. The class will focus on the basic crochet stitches, tools, and terms.

By the end of the class, you will be able to: Identify different crochet hooks and yarn types and sizes; understand basic crochet terms; hold the yarn and hook; and be comfortable with the basic crochet stitches(chain stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, turning chain). Students will utilize these basic crochet stitches to follow a dishcloth pattern during the class. Additional instruction will be provided to use these stitches to work on a range of progressively difficult projects.

Materials can be purchased from Bazaar Girls the day of the class: One skein Cestari Sheep and Wool Old Dominion 3-ply DK weight cotton yarn;  crochet hook, size 5.5 mm. (Note: while we recommend a 5.5 mm hook, you can use any size from 5 to 6.5mm if you already have one).

I am looking forward to learning how to crochet. I recently got a little dog who loves to sit on my lap. I would love to be able to work on some crochet projects while she is with me. I am curious what the approximate cost of materials will be? for planning purposes. See you on the 11th. -Greta Stromberg
